Holden has changed as a character in my mind. I did not mind him, but he gets very annoying. He lies to others and to him self, and doesn't have a goal, he is just there, desperate, alone, and afraid (he doesn't want to admit anything). I hate when he makes up fake names and says he feels bad about doing it, but he keeps doing it. I think he likes being able to lie to people because he is able to make up a lie of a life he would rather have, or is more interesting then the one he has.
The only thing I like about him is that he is somewhat relatable. In most stories the characters have extraordinary lives with something special about them, which is kind of 'phony', if you asked Holden. Holden lives a normal, I would say, life. There isn't anything really special about him or his journey, which also makes the story pointless.
